September 5th, 10-11am
Ayo Ayurveda, 4516 1/2 N Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041
Tea ceremony is an invitation to pause and return to the present moment. We will gather together to slow down, we bring attention to the senses — the warmth held in the cup, the color of the tea as it settles, the scent that rises before it ever touches the tongue. In this noticing, we discover what it feels like to slow down and simply be present, without having to do anything, and without having to not do anything either.
We will drink rare tea that is hand-picked from ancient wild tea trees by a small indigenous family cooperative.
This ceremony draws from the spirit of the Japanese concept of Ichigo Ichie 一期一会 — one chance, one meeting. Every gathering, every cup, every exchange happens only once. There is a quiet beauty in this truth, and a deep contentment in choosing to meet a moment that will never come again in quite the same way.
